Nov 21, 2012 · I''m finally getting into tle and I''m at my wit''s end trying to figure out what the grinder/pickup thing on the front of the self propelled mixer wagon does. It doesn''t pickup straw, it doesn''t pick up hay, it doesn''t grind round bales into straw or hay, and it doesn''t pickup silage from the bunker. What does it do?

When that limit is reached I add another pickup one to unload into the area to be picked up by the last one added etc.

Nov 07, 2016 · I may need to try that out I set the belts up is a static position and use the "leveler" blade to push it to the ground pick up conveyer. I do find that using this method I have to stop and drive the ground pick up conveyer into the bunker once to complete the silage uncover.

That was my set up. I had the conveyors set up and was using the leveler on the tractor to push the silage from the back to the front. I have run the pick up on the conveyor all over the bunker and it won''t pick any more up. I can see silage on the edge of the bunker but nothing can pick it up.

It will not pick up the very small amount of silage that gets stuck at the ends of the bunker. We also tried a forage wagon to pick it up and it looked like it did, but it later reappeared, which made it clear that the silage was bugged. Only the subsoiler (which is a small cultivator/plow, model DC 401) fixed it and got the bunkers to 0.
